Kim Benton (Orosco)

Kim Benton Orosco (1962-2011)

   September 18, 1962-April 25, 2011

ODESSA Our TRUE angel Kim was called home by our heavenly father surrounded by her family.

Kim fought a valiant graceful battle with brain cancer. Thru her illness she showed her compassion for others and always worried about others, never herself. She touched many many lives with her loving heart.

Visitation with the family will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Her celebration of life will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Crossroads Fellowship Church with Jason Harmeyer officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Robert Orosco, Robert Orosco, Jr., Jordy Orosco, Zachary Griffin, Richard Orosco, George Orosco and Stan Vines.

Kim Graduated from Permian High School and was a majorette. She graduated from Odessa College. Kim worked at Medical Center Hospital for over 20 years as a Respiratory Therapist. She retired leaving her "night shift" family to open her dream Air Angel Scrubs and Embroidery in 2008.

Kim never asked God why me. Her faith in God gave comfort to her knowing God will take care of her. During the last few months when visiting Kim, when you touched her, she would take your hand and tell you, "When you touch me you are touching a miracle of God." Kim was the kindest, gentle, loving angel and if you had the greatest gift of knowing her, you were truly blessed.

Kim's most treasured gift is her family. Her husband Robert Orosco is her rock. They spent 30 plus years together and shared a love like no other. They were blessed with two sons, Robert Jr. and Jordy. Kim is very proud of her boys! Her most cherished treasure, her Grandson Kendall. Her heart would melt to Kendall saying "I love you Gee-Maw".

Kim loved her mom and dad. She always took the time to tell them "Thank you for taking care of me." Kim knew she was blessed with good parents.

Her beautiful smile and her loving heart will be missed, but never forgotten.

Kim is survived by her Mom and Dad, Glenn and Carol Benton of Odessa; her husband, Robert Orosco, Sr.; sons, Robert Orosco, Jr. and Jordy Benton Orosco all of Odessa; her special little man, Grandson Kendall Orosco; numerous family members and very special friends, Toni McDaniel Vines, Kristi Jumper, and Lisa Chaffin.

The family would like to thank West Texas Cancer Center, Dr. Ghanta and Lordes, Home Hospice and Dr. McLarey and nurse Molly Floyd for your care and support during this difficult time. Thanks to Crossroads Sunday night group for you loving support. A special thank you to Dub and Janet Cree, your presence was always comforting to Kim and Robert. You are all Angels among us. May God bless you abundantly.

Kim was precious. She and I had some classes together and the thing I remember most about her was that she was always smiling and was never unkind to anyone; one of the sweetest girls I knew in school. I'm so incredibly sad to see someone so wonderful swept away so early in her life...

Myself, Kristi Goldsmith, and Kim used to have so much fun together.  I remember that Kim always had the most beautiful smile.

I was so saddened when Kristi informed me that Kim had passed away at such a young age, but was so thankful that she knew Christ as her Savior.

I'm also so thankful that she had such loving parents, a wonderful husband of 30 plus years, and wonderful sons and grandson.

We'll miss you, Kim - you were taken too soon.  But, Heaven gained another Angel when you went home.  We'll see you again one day!
