Michaele battled cancer all through high school and it finally got the best of her on November 7, 1983.

I first met Michaele in 9th grade at Nimitz. I started Nimitz in the last half of the year in the 9th and she was one of my first friends there.

She and I got extremely close during the last year of her life. Before she got so sick again, we did a lot of running around together...Grahams, Stardust and just hanging out at my parent's pool. She made my 20th birthday very special by having a *dinner party* for us and our boyfriends. It was a lot of fun!

One of my fondest memories of her last year of life was when one day she came knocking on my apartment door and I opened the door and she yanked the bandanna from her head and said: "LOOK! I've got hair growing back!" It was like 3 little strands but she didn't care, she was just happy her hair was finally growing back. LOL

Around July 4th, we had gone to the Pecos Rodeo and she was feeling badly and we came home early. It was after that she started going downhill really quickly.

I still miss Michaele very much. She was someone that loved life and lived it to the fullest, especially at such a young age. We had a lot of fun together and I'm truly blessed to have had her in my life.
